Chris Milewski is a low budget, indie filmmaker from the USA who strives to capture the atmosphere of the cinema of yesteryear. The short films he creates are heavily influenced by Joe D'Amato, Lucio Fulci, and Jess Franco, though by his own admission, never attain even a fraction of their greatness. While the 80s Italian horror style would define the bulk of his running oeuvre, one can also find silent films, experimental films, art films, and beyond. Over the years handling most of the production duties himself, his name is usually hidden behind many pseudonyms paying tribute to those who offer influence and inspiration -- after all, the name of an artist is not important, only that which he creates (and even that is subjective.) Chris also handles the soundtracks for many of his films, being heavily influenced by Marcello Giombini, Fabio Frizzi, Ennio Morricone / Gruppo di Improvvisazione Nuova Consonanza, and the many amazing composers within Italian cinema in general. From time to time, he contributes writing, music, etc. to other film projects beyond his own and is always open to working with others who might share a similar vision. As of 2024, he continues to produce.
While certainly not without their flaws, his top 5 Filmiracle / Sidd Web productions:
- In the Dreams of Those with Unblinking Eyes
- The City of Dunwich
- La Fleur du Diable
- Phantoms of the Fog
- The True Story of the Christ's Return
